Believe me, I know. I’ve seen it happen.

I was young and working in a accounting firm. We had several trucking companies as our clients, and I helped them with compliance issues. One day, one of the trucking companies asked me to handle an audit for them. I agreed, and the audit went really well. The client was really happy.
That day, I realized there was a big opportunity for someone who enjoys understanding and complying with complex rules to help other trucking companies. I knew there was an easier, better way to help trucking companies with their compliance and start-up issues. And my plan was to create a business to help trucking companies follow federal and state rules. Instead of going through the muck and mud of doing it themselves, I could do it for them. I could help them be compliant. They would no longer need to worry if they were doing everything right or not because I would handle the compliance hassle for them and save them the headache. It would be a win-win situation.
That’s when Thurcorp was born.
I started this business because I had a desire to help owners of trucking businesses and wanted to actually make a difference in the world and impact people’s lives for good. Knowing the importance of government regulations and DOT Scores, I knew I could make things easier and streamline the trucking compliance process.

This quote, although stated over 150 years ago by a former U.S. president, can be likened to many different instances in life. Hypothetically, if Abe had not spent those four hours sharpening his axe, how long would it have taken him to chop down a tree with a dull blade? The job would not have been done as quickly or as well.
The world of trucking is complex and confusing. Preparation and educating yourself thoroughly beforehand is part of the "sharpening your axe" concept. If you do it right, things will go a lot more smoothly for you.
